Student Services

National Service Scheme

Education through service and meaningful community participation.

SERVICE & RESPONSIBILITY

Learning by serving society.

The National Service Scheme was introduced at the college on 15 June 1977 as a two-year programme with a unit strength of 100 volunteers.

Sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, NSS engages college students in social-service activities. It helps students develop discipline, dedication and a lasting sense of responsibility towards their communities.

Through education and service, volunteers encounter the challenges faced by disadvantaged sections of society and contribute to practical efforts that address those needs.

Community engagement

The NSS unit adopts surrounding villages and organises special camps. Activities include awareness of bio-fertilisers and modern cultivation methods, literacy, public health, cleanliness and blood donation.
